Hi! I’m Hannah. Did you know that your brain, like a muscle, can become stronger, and smarter too?
Researchers studied two groups of rats. One group was in separate cages with plenty of food.
The other group of rats had social interaction, and puzzles and mazes to challenge them.
When the researchers examined the brains of the rats from the challenging environment with mazes and puzzles, they found that these rats’ brain tissues were more compact, interconnected, and their brains were heavier! They were smarter than the lazy rats and better at solving problems and at learning new things.
This is positive news, because we now know that we’re not stuck when we face challenges.
